Sea Urchins

2024

coiled single use plastic bags,  lobster trap tags, wire, embroidery thread

Sea urchins are devastating the kelp beds globally. Their populations have exploded due to warming sea water temperatures and predator populations being negatively impacted. Climate change is the driver of this destruction. and the production of plastic is one of the drivers of climate change.

These single used plastic bags were outdated from the Norwegian waste management system and were gifted to me by a Norwegian artist friend.
