I have always kept my plastic basketry and my kelp basketry apart. They feel so different; they smell so different; they manipulate differently; and they definitely trigger very different emotional reactions. But they DO have a story to tell together. The production of plastic is one of the drivers of climate change and climate change has been a major factor in the destruction of kelp forests globally.
