hand knitted cotton vessel encrusted with sand filled with 22 smaller hand knitted cotton pots encrusted with sand
In the early 1990s I developed a technique to encrust knitted cotton with sand. These pieces are not waterproof and they don’t break.
I was walking in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada, with my son. We saw the moulin (pothole) structures on one of the trails and I thought “I could knit that.”
