cuvie kelp blades attached to sugar kelp stems/stipes
Walking the beaches near Berlevag, Norway when I was there on an artist residency at Kvitbrakka, I was fascinated with how the cuvie kelp blades that had spots on them once they had been on the beach for awhile. The stems/stipes of the cuvie are bulky and so I used sugar kelp stems/stipes and attached cuvie kelp blades on with waxed Irish linen thread.
