1984
I designed this sweater while living on Fogo Island, Newfoundland, Canada. It is based on the local traditional ‘double-knit’ mittens.
In 1984, this sweater won first place in the Handknit Production Category of “Design Your Own” Knitting Competition, Newfoundland & Labrador Crafts Development Association, St John’s, NL, Canada
In 1986, it won Honourable Mention – Best Overall Handknit Sweater in the The Knitting Guild of America Design Competition
